    You are soooo right. So many people are so self-absorbed that they are just trying to endlessly vote themselves more free stuff at the expense of the rest. That needs a philisophical and cultural change, and to be honest with you, I think most college grads nowadays couldn't even name one single thing that philosophers like Socrates, Plato, or slightly more modern guys like St Thomas Aquinas, John Locke, John Stuart Mill, Jeremy Bentham, Immanuel Kant, or Fredrick Nietzsche wrote about.

    I don't know about your degree path, but us engineering types didn't need to know any of that fancy pants philosophy stuff!
