Default Obama just lost a voter

This morning at about 7am EDT at Winchester Hospital in Winchester Mass my Mother in Law passed after a week of unconsciousness.

She lived in Wichita, Kansas but was out in the Boston area visiting my wife's brother. Last Saturday they were driving home from dinner (she was scheduled to fly back to ICT on Sunday) when she passed out. She never regained consciousness (death was complications of emphysema and COPD).

She spent her last week with her son (whom she only sees once a year or so) seeing the sights, they went whale watching, she went to one of the casinos (her favorite past time) and won a little over $250. That final dinner was a big plate of shrimp (her favorite food) finished off with a nice dirty martini (her favorite cocktail).

While the family is sad, we're not all that shocked (she was old, she had lots of health issues). We are all comforted by the fact that she was living life to the fullest right up to the very end, and frankly you can't ask for better than that.

The take-away from all this is that we should all be so lucky as to die on vacation.

    Gladys was 84 years old.

Sorry for your loss but it's cool that she got to enjoy some of her favorite things on her last trip.

    Sorry for your families loss.

It sounds like she was enjoying herself at the end and then gracefully slipped away. This is what I hope for myself and family.

Life is tough enough, death shouldn't be long, painful & drawn out.

May she and your/your wife's family have peace.

Oh, and as to the title, she may very well still end up voting for Obama in this election. He seems to get a lot of votes from those who have already left us.

Happy to hear she went enjoying life. You didn't need to post her age. Just by your mom's name i can tell within 2-3 years what age group she is in. My late mom's name was Helen, same age bracket as your mom.
This year is 1/2 way over and more people have crossed over than i can count . Some family members others family or friends of the board. Any loss is felt by all.

Good for you, Gladys. Sounds like her last days were great days. I hope I'm that lucky.
