The loss will be heavy, but it's very refreshing to hear that she really enjoyed herself in her last days. I hope I can be so lucky.

RIP. Death never stopped a name from voting for a Democrat though.

Thanks for all the condolences, its been a real tough couple of weeks what with the fires, evacuation, wife's lovebird dying (as a result of the evac), the republic dying (as a result of the obamacare ruling) and now this.

I'm just waiting for the locusts ... and I've painted the door jamb on the house with lambs blood just in case.

As for her Obama vote (she's always been a solid Democrat vote even though she has no idea what any of the Dem candidates really stand for), keep in mind she's from Kansas ... so dead or alive her vote for Obama won't count for much (I don't think a Democrat has won Kansas since JFK, and I think he's only one of four Dem presidents to ever win there).

She wasn't perfect, but she was always full of life ... more so than many people I know half her age.

However, she and my wife had a very strained and difficult relationship that ironically had a great deal of mending while we were evacuated for the Waldo Canyon fire (they had a few pretty deep conversations during that time and several pretty serious wounds got healed and longstanding conflicts settled).

For that I feel we were blessed.

    Absolute +1 for that!

Our time here is short & we never know when death will take us. It's good to mend all relationships that you can as soon as you can; just in case of a situation like this.

I am absolutely against many of the decisions my 20 year old son continues to make, but I take every opportunity to tell him, and my daughter, just how much I love them - especially as they leave my house - because I don't know if it will be my last chance to do so.
