a cool, fancy title
The current form of the UN Gun Treaty has rules that would require nations exporting guns to follow them to the end user...if Beretta sells a gun in the USA they will be required to keep record the "end user"...you.
In other words, even if the USA doesn't sign the Treaty, Beretta for example won't be able to sell guns in the USA because we won't provide them end user records. We sign = international gun registry. We don't sign, other nations will = no more foreign made arms. We are screwed either way.
Say goodbye to some if not all of the models made by Beretta, Benelli, Glock, Sig, HK, Savage, Sako, Taurus, etc, etc, etc.
On top of that, they are trying to include parts, ammo and components in the Treaty.
I love American made firearms as much as the next guy, but some of the best guns are also made in foreign nations.
The attempts by the UN at an international registry is nothing new and has included small arms in the past. Although it stopped short of tracking to the end user and wasn't mandatory. Here's info about the existing register.

We have been fighting new US anti-gun laws for the last 2 decades while they have quietly been working to control them internationally. The anti-gunners are good at what they do...I think they have a jump on us. Scary times ladies and gentlemen.
