You never know, but there seems to be more to this story than is indicated in the article given.

1) Why would the lawyer react the way that he did if there was only the one forum thread and the initial inquiry?

2) Why would the lawyer get backing from the organization at all? It seems to me that the action taken would have been to stay out of it and tell them to handle the case themselves. There is no reason to get involved because the situation as described is lose lose for them to bac the lawyer, unless there is something we are not being told.

I want to back the NCO, but the action - reaction for this situation does not add up. Plus, as some make believe war hero, it seems awful foolish to attack people trained to make people disappear.

Just sent an email to the Association, asking if I could donate money and then claim to be SOF.

If you donate A LOT I'm sure you could. Possible offer some sort of free service that's pricey too.. since it appears he is their attorney, I'm sure he's told them he's a $500/hr atty.

Money is a powerful motivator and it appears a greater cause than the truth.

This whole thing stinks! I am especially frightened for this SF NCO, this is something he definitely doesn't need, especially if he gets deployed because a distracted soldier is a dead soldier. I have zero (0, nada, zilch) respect for these guys who fake the funk. I met a guy while I was traveling back to NY after being on leave at the ATL airport and he noticed my US Army address tag on my bag (those little leather deals that tie onto your bag and have your name and address on it in case the bag gets lost- don't know the actual name). He asked if I was in the service and I said yes, I was on leave. He then told me how he had been AD in the 80's and spent some time as an operator with OD-D (Delta Force)- something didn't sit right as I've only met one Delta Operator in my life and they don't say much about that, but this guy went on and on about his experiences and classified operations (no locations but he did say some details that would be very closely guarded secrets) and one of them even was the plot directly out of an episode of the Unit (the one where they pose as Secret Service and have to bug a foreign embassy). I didn't call him out on it, good thing too, because I don't wanna get sued.
