I didn't get a recording when they did my line. You should make sure you get a copy.

I understand you're just joking around. I'll explain anyway.
I was having problems when I had my sewer line scoped. The guy that scoped my line did several things that made me decide that there was no way I would be doing any further business with him. He did show me what the line looked like though. The other plumbers that I contacted about replacing the line all asked why I wanted it replaced. Short of getting it scoped again all I could tell them is what I saw convinced me it needed to be all replaced. Even with my uneducated eye I knew it wouldn't last much longer and it needed to be totally replaced, not just relined.
With a recording you can get a second opinion. Or have something to bargain with on the purchase. I wouldn't be surpised if the loan company might want to have a recording as part of the inspection report.
