I've decided to drop some real coin on a real optic.
My uses - general shooting/training/3gun
My budget - keep it south of $1200

I love the idea of Leupold's "cheaper" VX-6. At $800 it will be more expensive than any other optic I own.

But i know most of the world is koo-koo for ACOG, and for a comparable price, they are a viable option.

I like the versatility of variable power, but am I losing a ton of resale value by going w/ something other than ACOG? What other options am I overlooking? What do you run/not live without.
