I don't know exactly what warranted it, but I was in a mood this afternoon and a friend of mine texted me (granted 90% of all texts sent out there would make an English teacher cry, but I digress), he wanted to know if I wanted to go see the new Batman this weekend, I said of course then proceeded to ask him if he's free Sat to do so. This was his response:
"Yea"
So naturally, anyone who gets this, I responded: "Nay! HAHAHA!"
And then spent the next 5 min explaining that "yea" is pronounced "Yay" and that the word he was looking for was "yeah." I'm curious to ask some of our more grammar Nazi-esque members, do any of you find that little goof kinda funny when people type out 'yeah' as 'yea?'
I had to use the example watch a session of congress on TV (I know, paint, meet drying) and when it comes time to vote on something it pops up on the screen VOTES: YEA: ## NAY: ##.
