This would not be a police state it is the world we live in. They said their were off duty cops their working traffic or whatever, maybe that was false? Most places you go to their is security of some sort now days. Not paid for by the city normally but the promoter or owner.

I'm still amazed that no one had a ccw there or we're maybe afraid to use it? I usually carry everywhere, I'll maybe start a thread in the concealed forum explaining, but always carry where my chances of someone threatening my life increase significantly like a movie theater.
Dark theater, lots of flashy stuff on screen, hundreds of people running everywhere.

It'd be a nightmarish place to try to stop a shooter.

Latest report I heard says that the apartment of the suspect was extensively rigged with booby traps etc.

Defective individual to say the least.

Sincerest thoughts and condolences to all affected.

I expect most, if not all, would be assigned in the lobby and entrance area to watch for people acting in an unusual/suspicious manner. Sounds like this guy came in through a back door that was blocked open. Just my speculation, thou...

Condolences and best wishes to the injured and their families.

A very tragic case of someone going off the deep end. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

Agreed. I'd try and keep cover. Several witnesses say they were close to the suspect were you might have been able to be affective but with his body armor and what not it'd probably be bad to draw on. Several senerios could have taken place here as well as others so I'll still continue to carry in theaters...
