Wonder where he got his information about the guns and gear?

Smoke grenades seemed to dissapear from commercial sale last year- something about the ignitors being classed by BATF as incendiary devices or something??? Ammo2togo used to carry them, but haven't had them in stock for awhile.

Brandon Axelrod telling his story now. Best eyewitness account I've heard.

Ignorance abounds in the media. Nothing new.
Bo Deedle said that on FOX. He's a former NYPD detective and the vast majority of the populace he has served and protected had their 2A rights stripped from them a long time ago.

Another member of the NY populace that lives a Constitution Free Zone and thinks the rest of the country operates the same way. So glad I left that place.

He said something like "I hate to disagree with the Aurora police chief but I believe those extra round clips are a federal offense".

"extra round clips are a federal offense"

    1. Its a magazine, not a clip

    2. There is nothing "extra" circular about the magazine

    3. If by "round" he meant "cartridge," an "extra cartridge mag" does not exist as there is nothing extra about it.

    4. It is not a federal offense to have "more circular clip" because they do not exist.

In the aftermath of this, especially after seeing one of the survivors interviewed talking about how it will be a very long time before he goes back to a movie theater, one has to wonder, will this taint that industry? Will fear rule over the fact that these instances are rare? Will you go to a movie at a theater anytime soon? Will you think twice before allowing your children to go to a movie theater?

I think looking at this the thing that angers me most is that people immediately see a tragedy and have the desire to politicize it and blame the tools used instead of the attitude and cruelty that some people possess. Guns didn't make this man evil, he was evil and had some serious issues with his mental wiring. Whatever his reasons or motives this is not something we should ignore, gun ownership would not prevent this, so I think the media and others on a crusade against guns need to instead look at what creates monsters like this and go after that- not this fallacy like we saw with Columbine that video games, music, movies, etc makes people like this. I think a lot of questions need to be answered, and what contributed to this man's psychosis and twisted morals? I'm glad he's alive and hope that we can find out why, maybe figure out what went wrong with him to make him do this unspeakable act.
I went last night to see Dark Knight at 7. It was pretty empty for being opening night of such an anticipated movie. I did sit near the exit, seemed most were avoiding those as well.

If the news reported every car accident no one would ever drive again.

Not to derail too much, but was it at least a good movie? I feared that this would probably be the most anticipated summer movie for a while and that this tragedy would probably hurt it and not many would go. Remember how hesitant parents were to send their kids to school after Columbine? Remember how hesitant people were to fly after 9/11? We're strong, we won't let something like this change our lifestyle, I hope a sense of normalcy will return soon and again, my thoughts and prayers with everyone effected by this.

Sorry, but I just cannot see this shooting being stopped by a CCW holder. Either way, its speculation, but with sight impairing grenades initially employed, the film being distorted through the smoke/haze, people running everywhere, the lights are off, the reports of a shotgun and then a rifle...

I'm getting the hell out of there and not thinking of returning fire. The chances of getting a shot off (short of standing next to the shooter) with any accuracy would have to be little to no chance. Getting a shot off on an unarmored part of his body is even less. Sorry, but this is simply a leave the gun in the holster and get the hell out of dodge situation.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

In a movie theater your pretty much stuck as the exists are a huge bottleneck. This guy was wearing armor which is bulky a helmet which is awkward a gas mask which I know us hard as shit to see anything let alone aim with and all while shooting. Combine that with low light conditions and I say the best way to stop him is to close the distance. I'd rather die going toward him that not.

I 100% agree so many armchair commandos on other forums are talking about headshots from the back of the theater or rushing the dude with a knife....cmon
