That will be hard. They are like 2 year olds who throw temper tantrums.

He signed the credit card reform bill because it contained the new laws and regulations he was seeking. The rider for concealed carry in federal parks was something he was going to have to accept if he wanted his reform carried out quickly. I am fully aware of how the system works

Your first post already shows your ignorance of the system and Obama, if you are proposing that Obama is pro-2nd, I suggest you start a new thread in the political forum and let us know your thoughts along with factual evidence that supports those thoughts. I'm not proposing he is pro 2a. My opinion, based on his first term as PRESIDENT, is that it wasn't a major issue for him, yet. I don't believe the same will be the case in a second term, since there is no threat of not being re-elected. As previously stated, I worry as much as the next gun owner he will push for gun-control in a second term, but you will hear nothing of it until then. He doesn't care how angry liberals, democrats and progressives are with him now about gun control. You, I and he can guarantee they are not going to vote for Romney or any republican.

This shooting has really saddened me. Its a difficult time for gun owners because the media is saying the violent criminal who perpetrated this is a gun owner. You dont want to be a strong advocate for gun ownership because it seems disrespectful to the victims.

I am a gunowner and I feel the victims pain strongly. I have been a victim of a violent crime, no I havnt been through the hell they went through but a half a brick upside the head and stitches is no fun. Im no saint but I am a decent human being I didnt deserve that.

Over the years I have known several women who were victims of rape. Rape seems to be more common than you would be led to believe IMHO. They all seemed to struggle to figure out why their model of the word didnt fit any more. A percentage of them came to this conclusion, I am a decent human being, I didnt deserve to be raped, and Im not going to let it happen again. Those that purchased a firearm and trained with it, well you wouldnt want to try to rape them now. Beyond that, now they have a model to work with where they know who they are. Not all made that decision and thats their right. One of the great things about firearm ownership is that only a percentage of the population needs to be armed in order for relative safety to be established for all.

This to me is a very basic right. To say I am a decent human being and I dont deserve to be raped, assaulted or murdered. This right transcends race, gender or economics. Those who would deny this right are no friend of the victim. The perpetrator of this crime was not a gun owner ,he was a violent criminal who obtained guns. Gun owners are protectors of the non violent human beings in this world. I am a gun owner and had I been present at this crime and armed I would hope I would have the courage to fight the perpetrator until one of us was unable to continue. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this crime.

Same here. Stats I pulled from wikipedia, fbi reports and cdc websites

    In 2010,
8,775 Homicides in were gun related out of 300 million guns

‎32,788 Deaths total related driving out of 254 million cars

    Out of those 32,788
10,839 Deaths related to DRUNK driving out of 254 million cars

There are more guns than cars in the US. Cars with drunk drivers kill 1.23 times more people per year Cars in general kill almost 4 times as many people per year. I think we need to discuss car control first.
