I just sent the following email to Cinemark theatres:

"How on earth could you allow the Aurora theatre massacre to happen, with a no firearms policy? You are trying to make your theatres safer for people, but in the end just made one into a deathtrap - with no possibility of stopping the shooting before it started, or just after it started. When seconds counted, the police were only a minute or two away. Me and my family will be avoiding your theatres at all costs, for our own safety, as they are free fire zones for criminals".

These free fire zones - especially the private businesses - need to hear about the impact of their policies on your patronage.

I appreciate you efforts here and totally agree with you, but you should have mentioned "lawfully carrying concealed with a permit" somewhere. To just walk in there with firearms is one thing, carrying concealed with a permit is another.

Thanks for your efforts in sending this to them, and again I do agree with you and see your point I am just worried they will not understand that there are law abiding citizens that go through the appropriate training and channels to be able to carry legally to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

I think we take for granted that the people who make these sorts of policies actually recognize that it is absolutely legal to carry open or concealed with permit. Rather than taking the time to understand the reality they just put signs up saying dont do it. They have no way of enforcing this, its just there so that IF something happens they feel like they are covered. One would also think they had consulted legal consul regarding these sorts of actions but I kind of doubt it.

Like so much of our modern society, policies are not based on common sense but rather what a lawyer could possibly prove in a courtroom somewhere at some time that may or may not happen but still might.

    Mr. Dow,

Perhaps you enjoy living under the laws of the British monarchy.

We did not, so we do not. When the British crown sent soldiers to take our guns, our forefathers fought. They kept their guns and sent the British packing.

The rest of the world has benefited in some small measure from our American freedom. We like it the way we are, and like our forefathers, we will fight anyone who comes to take either our guns or our freedom.

Thank you for sharing. I wish you happiness living as a subject of the British crown (more German than Scottish).
