I would assume that an exit door swings out and not in. I would also think that it would be a steel door in a steel frame. I don't see how someone could kick that in.

Code states that the egress doors must swing in the direction of egress and you are correct in assuming that it would be a steel door - no way he was able to "kick it in". Some had to have let him in...

Reading on the net that this evil man may have been a member of a group called occupy black bloc . Anybody familiar with this?

There are fingers being pointed in every direction as to what groups he might have been in.

I wouldn't put too much faith in any of them. Remember the Arizona shooter a few years back?

Until confirmed, I'm betting on an unrelated person let him in after hearing the banging. Sort of like the people who feel obligated to answer a ringing pay phone. Who knows though, anything is possible. Maybe he jammed the lock on a previous visit.

I doubt it was someone unrelated. He had his apartment rigged for when the cops showed up. This sounds too planned to allow for the chance of not being able to get into the theater.
