There was some argument about weather or not the Grands were loaned or sold to Korea, and that if they were loaned then they shouldn't be sold back.

I'd hate for someone to pay $900 plus for a fucked up Big 5 Garand.

It doesn't make sense to ban the importation of the Garands when they allow the importation of AKs and other scarier guns. I think there is more to it than just he don't like no guns.

Not sure about that, all the research I've done suggests Romney had been way more anti-2A as the Govenor of Mass.

He was a product of his surroundings in MA. Now he is surrounded on a national lever by people who enjoy their freedoms and they are the ones potentially putting him into office.

He has flipped to the side of protecting the 2nd in the last 4 years. Typical political move, but I would still rather have him, who will be surrounded by pro-2nd type people than 4 more years of Obama who we see who he surrounds himself with as president.

I haven't seen anything he has done as president. Quite the opposite in fact, signing the bill that allowed loaded guns in national parks, and another that allowed guns in baggage on amtrak trains into law... as far as I've seen he's loosened gun laws.

I've shot both, nothing is 'scary' about either - they fire one bullet when you pull the trigger. If you are aiming at a paper plate, the paper plate is not in any more danger with one than with the other. Let's not sensationalize a gun because the media blames it for every incidence of violence

I'm just as worried as you and others that he is sitting on gun control until his second term. IF he does push gun control it won't be until he is re-elected, he knows he needs independent votes of gun owners. So far though, the facts show he has loosened the gun control laws as President.

apparently you don't understand how those were passed into law.

The national parks allowing concealed weapons was an executive order or "11th hour" decision by Bush Jr.

Obama worked to overturn that decision and it was put on hold thanks to a federal judge decision.

Ultimately the allowing of carry in national parks was added to the credit card reform package which Obama pushed for. He was forced into allowing concealed carry in national parks or else he would have had to veto his credit card reform act.


As to Amtrack, Senator Roger Wicker (R) of Miss attached the amendment to allow weapons as checked baggage as part of a $1.5 billion transportation funding bill. The amendment passed the senate 68-30
Obama had nothing to do with this.

On the other hand Obama ordered that 850,000 M1s from Korea not be imported for sale to US residents (such as through the CMP).
Clinton blocked sales of M1s from Phillipeans, Turkey and Pakistan

Yet Reagan allowed 200,000 M1s from South Korea.

And the guns that were blocked by Obama were GIVEN to Korea. so...m parents and grandparents tax dollars were used to build these rifles for the government to give to a foreign country and now they are not allowed back in for me to enjoy.

Let us also not forget the recent executive privilege regarding fast and furious. More than likely those documents would implicate Obama in the scandal. I can only hope one day we find out the truth.
I believe fast and furious was a program Obama saw as a way to enact gun control if it was seen that "illegal" guns were being used by drug traffickers and cartels to create chaos on the southern border.

But yeah...Obama has been great to us gun owners so far...

The State Dept banned the importation, not Obama himself.

Reagan also allowed amnesty for illegal aliens.

It's almost as if political decisions don't always fall neatly within party lines.

I'm not liking either candidate right now. We'll see what the debates do for my opinion.

I'm not jumping for joy over Romeny being the next Reagan...because he is nowhere hear that. But I am realistic in what choices I have before me. Yes I will side for someone who is not obama, because that is the only realistic choice in front of me. A third party candidate will not win. IF Romney wins, it will be nowhere near a landslide, it will be close, probably Kerry/Bush close.
I could care less about the candidates race, religion or sexual preference, I care about my personal rights and the future for my child.
