It has been very slow at the auto repair shop I work at and I am thinking about moving on.

I get paid 40% commision on repair order labor and the shop pays for insurance.

I have asked to be laid off so I can collect unemployment but the owner/operator will not do so.

Is there any place to find out how to quit and still get unemployment? In my situation having no work to do should not be a reason to be denied but I would like to know for sure. I have checked the Colorado Unemployment website and couldn't find anything.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
