Default Fix Me Stick for PC's?

Has anybody ever heard of or used one of these? http://www.fixmestick.com/?gclid=CJO...FYcBQAod1goAkQ

A friend of mine told me about it last night. Said his PC was so hosed up with viruses and crap it was unusable, he couldn't even turn it on. He'd had an "expert" come and check it out, and was charged $140 to be told there was nothing he could do except install a new hard drive.

Bryan said he'd heard about this product somehow, and figured WTF, it was worth a chance. He said it basically went through his PC and beat the shit out of all the nasties in it, and now the PC runs and works perfectly, just like new.

Just wondering if any of you have tried one. I don't think I need one, but if they work this good I'm going to keep it in mind.

    He said "computer magic wand"

Never heard of these, but might be an affordable and easy to use tool that could save from having to reformat a hard drive and start all over (which is usually the only/best solution available)..

This is the only "fix it stick" that I've used with any success for a computer.......

Agreed. Could we have that in English, Byte? Preferably dumbed down a little for me?

It cleans up some junk data in your computer's main database, and it scans for viruses.

He said it was like having a relative in the hospital, brain-dead and in a coma, and he came back the next day and they were up, showered, dressed, had breakfast and was ready to go home.

I may have to get one just to run some preventative maintenance and cleanup with, supposed to be good for 3 computers. From what the website says, it appears these things need to be the latest, most current version to work right. Can't buy one and toss in a drawer for 3 years. Gotta be new enough to know about most of the nasties out there, I reckon.

$140? incompetence or greed. A 5 dollar thumb drive and a bootable free kaspersky image and let it run.
