I got into some trouble at the bar last night

So I was at the bar last night and there was a kid that I went to high school with but he is a year younger then me and I don't know shit about him not even his name and he starts asking me all kinds of weird ass shit like where I work and live. I didn't really give him much info and he keeps pestering me and I a finally got annoyed enough to ask him what his problem was and why he was so interested in me.

He starts saying I said something to him in high school (4to7 years ago) and I asked him what I said and if he was sure it was even me and he said he wasn't sure and I explained I wasn't the type to go around bulling other kids for no reason. I didn't even know him and I apologized if I ever said anything that he didn't appreciate and we shook hands and everything seemed cool. I turned around and started talking to my friends and WACK the coward hit me on my forehead with a beer bottle. I instantly grabbed my head and pull my hand back and it's bloody. By the time I turned around my friends were on him and the bouncer was there so I couldn't do anything.

The bouncers had the coward apprehended and they took me to the bathroom and I have a 2 inch gash that most people would get stitches for but I refused emergency service. By the time the police got there the bouncers let the fu€ker go so he wasn't arrested. The police took statements from me and my friends and took pictures and the EMTs checked my vitals and advised me to go to the hospital and get stitches but I refused because Ive dealt with cuts like this before and it's not worth 5grand to fix it when I can butter fly it for 10 bucks.

My question is what do I do next I'm definitely going to press charges since I didn't even get to fight back. What do you think the charges will be I'm thinking assault with a deadly weapon. I have his name and I know where he works from facebook

Press the charges and handle it through the courts, don't go doing anything on your own, or you will be the one needing to post bail....

Sorry for the bad grammar my head still hurts I'm hung over and I'm typing on my phone, can you just let me slide this one time? Although revenge is what I would really like to do its the last thing on my mind because there is a open investigation right now so that would be extremely dumb.

They should of arrested his ass last night! I would definitely press the charges, hitting you with a bear bottle is got to be a good offense. I hope your buddies got a couple good hits in on his ass! Pardon my French!

Press charges to the fullest extent of the law and let the boys and girls of leo handle it. It's not what you probably want to do, on going investigation or not, but it's the smartest. Your pride may have been hurt but where it stands it can, and could have been worse. Just my .02

Press charges.. your emotionally scarred for life... won't be able to go to a bar again... sue...and then try to sue for some more... Do what ever you can to keep his ass in jail as he is a threat to society and to you.

I think I already went a little over board.
