I got into some trouble at the bar last night

So you were sucker punched(hit) with a glass beer bottle and you are gushing with blood, the cops and paramedics get called and the bouncers just let this guy go...??....hmmmm

So I was at the bar last night and there was a kid that I went to high school with but he is a year younger then me and I don't know shit about him not even his name and he starts asking me all kinds of weird ass shit like where I work and live. I didn't really give him much info and he keeps pestering me and I a finally got annoyed enough to ask him what his problem was and why he was so interested in me.

He starts saying I said something to him in high school (4to7 years ago) and I asked him what I said and if he was sure it was even me and he said he wasn't sure and I explained I wasn't the type to go around bulling other kids for no reason. I didn't even know him and I apologized if I ever said anything that he didn't appreciate and we shook hands and everything seemed cool. I turned around and started talking to my friends and WACK the coward hit me on my forehead with a beer bottle. I instantly grabbed my head and pull my hand back and it's bloody. By the time I turned around my friends were on him and the bouncer was there so I couldn't do anything.

The bouncers had the coward apprehended and they took me to the bathroom and I have a 2 inch gash that most people would get stitches for but I refused emergency service. By the time the police got there the bouncers let the fu€ker go so he wasn't arrested. The police took statements from me and my friends and took pictures and the EMTs checked my vitals and advised me to go to the hospital and get stitches but I refused because Ive dealt with cuts like this before and it's not worth 5grand to fix it when I can butter fly it for 10 bucks.

My question is what do I do next I'm definitely going to press charges since I didn't even get to fight back. What do you think the charges will be I'm thinking assault with a deadly weapon. I have his name and I know where he works from facebook

Turn that information into the police, immediately. Let them do their job. Cooperate fully.

The applicable charge would be Assault in the Second Degree or First Degree, depending on whether or not you have Serious Bodily Injury/Disfigurement.

Since you were/are a tough guy and refused medical, you also don't get a SBI letter from a doctor. This means the suspect will more than likely be charged with Assault 2. It is a felony.

Future reference, let medical assist you. I'm sure it was the beer talking, but there are other things at play here. You could have a closed head injury that shows itself later on. Not good. Also, once this guy is prosecuted, victim assistance and victims comp can help with medical bills. Restitution is also common place in sentencing.

+1 MILLION. Vast majority of really bad stuff happens or begins at a bar. No thank you. I refuse to put myself in a high risk situation ANNDD give up carrying... If somebody attacks me, they get shot. If I do that in a bar or under the influence of alcohol, that means jail time for me. Nope.
