figured I would kinda write up a rant/ result of my trip out to Cherry Creek gun range today. Went out with my dad to site in my AR finally, my 22s and my .308, yeah we were kinda busy. Dad brought his new 22-250 howa and his 22 I built. everything went fine and got all my rifles sited in the way I wanted them, but two things I kinda noticed today that made me think.
1.) there were a lot of ar-15s and ak style rifles there. I think I only counted 6 other rifles on the line while I was there that were bolt or lever.
2.) there are a lot and I mean a lot of in-experience shooters there, which is cool to get more people into the sport. but the jerk-offs beside my dad and I kept shooting our target![]()
Granted it wasn't on purpose but when I asked them about it they argued and said I didn't know what I was talking about and that they were aiming for the 50 yard mark. I looked through there spotting scope to see what they were looking at and it was looking at the ground, I asked how are they spotting it and the one guy goes oh I can see it from back there where he's hitting (pointing at the back wall). I tell them if you want I'll bring my .308 into their window so they can clearly see where they're hitting and we'll talk again. kind of a dick head move but the guy had an attitude and I wasn't going to put up with it, especially at the range, I understand accidents happen but that was ridiculous) after the range officer looked and told them they were in fact hitting our targets as well they apologize and we kinda started talking about our ARs and AKs cause they had one there and I've been thinking about getting one as well.
The guy who was shooting that hit our targets I asked him what all he had in his AR and he goes i don't know I just got the thing a month ago from a pawn shop. At that point I just thought to myself why I hated going to Cherry Creek and why I rather drive down to Rainbow Falls to shoot.
