One interesting thing of note that I learned the other day is that there are 3 people on Colorado's Death Row (hopefully there will be a 4th person soon), they're all former residents of the City of Aurora (meaning they lived there when they committed their crimes). How odd is that? I think it speaks volumes of what most of us have known about Aurora for a long time (my apoligies to the law abiding citizens of Aurora on here in advance). The fact remains, the City of Aurora seems to produce a much larger share of violent crime than anywhere else in the state.

This is probably why they restrict conceal-carrying in many places in the city. But it is also the reason there was not one person carrying a firearm in that theatre who maybe, just maybe could have prevented or reduced the level of carnage.

That's my 2-cents on it all.

The first part of your post is completely wrong, we CAN stop a lone wolf.

As is the second. Im from Aurora, I grew up here. I live about a mile away from century 16. The proximity to the thug magnet or "mall"as it is called is the only reason i go elsewhere to see movies. Aurora is a good city full of good people. My guess is the century shooting is the limit of your A- town experience. They all could have just as easily came from cherry hills too.

I honestly, couldn't agree more. I have spent a lot of time in Aurora, and most places I've been have been in vicinity of Buckley AFB... lots of my uniform clad brothers and sisters there and while yes, I've seen some shady individuals, it's really no more than what I run into at 16th Street Mall, South West Plaza, hell, even in my current location of Lakewood. Now granted, 5 Points is a whole different story, but that's 5 Points. I'd venture to say Aurora is no more dangerous that the Highlands, or Green Mountain, or even Golden, it's all different situations. Now, I do feel safest when I'm back in my hometown of Evergreen, but that's because it's boring and less densely populated.
