Default Aurora shootings: Obama calls for 'common sense' over guns

Here is the link to the article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18996026

I like this quote: Mr Obama said he believed even most gun owners would agree "that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of children".

Is this a slick piece of wording to slide in some gun control?

This is good too: "I believe the majority of gun owners would agree we should do everything possible to prevent criminals and fugitives from purchasing weapons"

When will liberals get it that criminals and fugitives do not buy guns from a gun store!

    You can't fix stupid!

That's some wicked jedi mind trick he's trying to use on us. By saying "most would agree" he's trying to alienate you for not agreeing. And boy do we like fitting in as human beings.

Well, Holmes did buy his guns at gun stores but I don't think that matters in this argument.

I have been thinking about Obama's comment about ak47s for several hours now. What keeps coming to mind is the question...why should soldiers have ak47s? My answer is to defend freedom, property, rights, and ideals. I would guess that AK47s are used to murder innocent people around the world so wouldn't that mean that soldiers should be banned from using them just like citizens who want defend freedom, property, rights, and ideals?

I really want to meet Mr. Hussein-Obama... I'd ask him "Sir, how many sticks of dynamite do we have to set off in your ears until your head clears? You're a f***ing idiot!"
Why is the AK the most chased after and evil-labeled gun on earth? Just because it's the most widely used? And what does the AK have to do with the Aurora tragedy? If liberals can't get that one little bit right then their whole argument becomes invalid and their position is weakened... unfortunately every liberal believes what they're told is true and take it at face value... dumb, just dumb.

This is what annoys me about all these folk saying that Obama is not calling for more gun control.

Clearly he wants to reinstate the AWB (I guess they don't consider this "more" gun control as it was once in force ... and did nothing to reduce crime btw) and also the term "common sense" when uttered by anyone to the left of William F Buckley is code for "complete government control" ... "Common Sense Gun Control" is still gun control.
Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".

A 1997 U.S. Justice Department survey of 14,285 state prison inmates found that among those inmates who carried a firearm during the offense for which they were sent to jail, 0.7% obtained the firearm at a gun show, 1% at a flea market, 3.8% from a pawn shop, 8.3% from a retail store, 39.2% through an illegal/street source, and 39.6% through family or friends.

Make no mistake, this administration has nothing but pure contempt for the firearms rights of citizens.

Don't you have to have common sense to call for it?
