Yea, thanks. I think its partly that the forum is kind of based in a town of 30k and there aren't that many people on the board. Hopefully including the brick of ammo tomorrow will sell it.

I'm an Telescope Operator, observing on a survey-driven 2.5m telescope. When skies are clear, we point the telescope at the sky, collect the data on our choice of pre-selected fields. Once we meet the minimum data quality threshold, we move onto the next field. Some nights we can observe as many as 9,000 objects (about the max we can do). Other nights, like tonight, nothing.

Awesome job! Any chance you're heading down to Okie-Tex or do you get enough observing in at work?

We keep trying to convince ourselves that it's not that hot by converting everything into Celsius, and then saying, oh... well... it's only 41, and that's not THAT bad....

Ha! We do the same thing...I'll be in the plane doing an engine run, and I have to set the torque bugs. I'm sweating my butt off, twisting a knob to set the outside air temp and it's 38. Not bad sounding, if I wasn't in a damn greenhouse doing it...sun beating in, and the only air movement is the avionics cooling fans exhaust... I'd love to turn the A/C on, but I'm doing a max power run and I have to leave the engine bleeds OFF! AAARRGGHHH!!!!!

That's during the day...we don't work day shift, or night shift, or swing shift...we work whatever we have to, whenever we have to.
