    Default CCW Weapon Choice

I've currently got a Ruger LCP and a Springfield XDm Compact in 9mm but I'd really like to pare down my collection to just one carry gun.

I've been considering the new XDs so do you guys think it would be wise to offload both of the above guns for the XDs? I'm a bit of a smaller guy at 5'10" and 165 so I sometimes feel like to XDm is too wide to comfortably conceal for an extended period of time but have no problem with the LCP, I just hate shooting it(I've actually never fired mine but my dad has one that I've got a lot of time on.)

Another benefit to thinning out the herd is I can dedicate more $ to fewer types of ammo... and maybe a new AR.

The only one you're kidding is yourself.
Only 1 carry gun, never. Once both guns are sold 2-3 months down the road, you will ask yourself, Self, why did i sell those guns.
Before you sell either one see if you can road test a single stack (Sig 239) to see fit and feel. I know a few folks who went with different profile, before having a chance to shoot one and they went back to original gun they sold off.
If anything sell the LCP, this way you will have 2 semi's in 9mm.
Go to one of the indoor ranges in the metro are before you do anything.

    1. I find it odd that you carry a gun that you have never fired.

    2. If you end up selling the XDM I may be interested.

Oh I'm absolutely going to try one out at the range before I make a final decision but I'm just asking if others here think it would be wise.

The XDs in in .45 so if I liked and got that and kept the XDm I'd still be working with two different caliber weapons.

I've only carried it 2-3 times but that was also a few months ago as I recently moved to the state so I'm still waiting on my new license.

I bought it and found out I was moving so didn't have a chance to make it to the range with being on such a short timeline to get out here.

If I do sell the XDm I'll definitely let you know.

I have 4 guns for carry..all the same caliber, line of firearms, and trigger style. They are just different sizes. I would never just have 1 gun......situations and clothes change.

So maybe I should unload the LCP and wait out the 9mm version of the XDs which is rumored to be coming out in November(don't hold your breath)

Ok I put my flame suit on for this response...
I carry a Glock 22 .40S&W Gen2. It was my first pistol and I went back to it due to increased mag capacity over my other carry piece, my Springfield 1911 GI Champion 4" .45.
Ideally one day I'd like to carry a Sig P229 9mm, but can't afford it right now.

Walther PPS most of the time (especially in the summer). Also Glock 26 and P99.

Everything I carry is single stack, and I have three I rotate (like Geo said) based on situation and clothing:
    1. Sig P238 for summer/lighweight carry
    2. M&P Shield for regular carry
    3. S.A. Loaded Ultra Compact 1911 for winter/coats.

And whichever you decide, make sure you fire it a lot so it's broken in, you're confident with it, etc.

    Just my .02
