Package 1 that I IWB often: 442 no-lock with LG-405's in a well-worn (pre-passing of Lou) Alessi APX, std pressure Gold Dots, an ultra comfortable setup and never feel under-gunned even when I probably am

Package 2 that I IWB most often: G19 Gen 3 bone-stock in a custom-fit Kydex from CO Holsters, 124gr +P Winchester Ranger and/or Federal's all-day long, comfortable and my most comfortING setup. ~5' 9", 170ish and I carry this easily but I do know "it's there" at times (e.g. when driving)

Package 3 that I rarely carry unless I'm in-the-mood because its a fatty (and too new to fill the role): Stock HK45C V1, 230gr Winchester Ranger +P exclusively in a boring Blackhawk nylon rig and mostly then OWB. On the flip-side, I love this frigin' gun and I just like big-azz, slow-moving, chunks of steel in .45ACP way more than that panzy-ass high-velocity .9mm famboi poop (okay...I admit it...can't dispute today's .9mm performance and I like it too...a lot...just don't want that fact getting out). I will be moving this to a Kydex setup soon

I have other setups that get no carry time these days but are backups, 1911 .45's, .9mm's and .357/.38 but...I stay focused on the first two packages listed, workin' extremely well for my needs and life-style. Planning on adding a G26 in a kydex too but...in no rush...

Imnsho, the best carry companion is the one you're most:
    - confident with
    - comfortable with
    - with which you have practiced a LOT (you've never fired your LCP?)

To consolidate calibers, I'd suggest you consider different frame sizes of the same caliber. Pick the caliber (9, 40, 45, whatever) and then have a single- and double-stack in that same caliber. Gives you options without having to support various calibers.

I have the new XDm 3.8" model in .45 and with its 9round mag, it's not too bad to carry around all day. I like the form factor better than my G32. I've not yet tried the new XDs but I'd sure like to!!
