    Default International Harvester

    #45149xx
    '53 bbl date.
Machined, not stamped steel trigger guard.
No pics at the moment, has what appears to be original, non marked stock, with awesome "tiger stripe" wood grain. No CMP markings. Most parts are SA.
Any guesses as to value? Only 2 IH's on gunbroker tonight, one at $2500, the other is $1500. Trying to decide if I want to keep it or sell it.
When I put a M2 ball into the muzzle, about a 1/16th of an inch shows before the case touches.

Usualy H&R and IHC bring a premium.
    I recently sold a 44 Springfield with a 68 dated bbl for $1200.
So to me $2500 isn't too far off base.

Now I'm no expert by the bullet test but it does sound like it's ok.The only way to realy tell is to guage it at bore and throat to see if it's within spec.I cant remember offhand what it is but this should help.

Also I would spec out the op rod and gas cylinder to help make your dertermination weather to keep or sell..

53 is the right barrel date. Need to know who made the barrel as IH did not make barrels. The rest of the gun should be IH to bring the big money. SA parts will lower the value.

Check the barrel channel of the stock for a 4-digit code to see if it's original. Trigger guard is not original.

Sounds like one I had, general mixmaster. Depending on the market I'd say $1000-1500, again depending on the market and the actual break down or parts.

Any import marks on the barrel?

No import marks. SA trigger assembly, SA bolt.
    Bbl stamp; LMR D6535448 7 53 A 17
Followed by a partial stamp that could be the Springfield crossed cannons.

There should be two punch marks on the barrel near the LMR logo, are they there?
