    Default Weird central air thing..

Sent a PM to bry already so hopefully soon I'll have a professional opinion.. It appears during the storms yesterday that power went out @ the house and threw a few of my surge protectors.. now..

my central air doesn't seem to want to work.

    Unit is only 1yr old.

It's not blowing cold air (outside unit doesn't seem to be turning on, the coil thing whatever it's called)

The fan/furnace will run but not the other, so it's just circulating air.. no cooling. Checked the breaker and nothing.

Any ideas? Or a recommendation of a good HVAC place? Sorry Bry, not gonna make you drive here when it could be something stupid.

    reset the breaker
Power it down for a few minutes, then power it back up.
Also, did your thermostat go freaky? Mine does sometimes when we have big power issues. You have to unplug the thermostat and let it sit for a few minutes then plug it back in.

that is about the sum total of my HVAC knowlege, but that's what usually happens to mine.

At the condenser unit (outside part) there should be a disconnect for the power feeding it, it may be a breaker type or a fused type either try resetting that breaker or pull out the fuses( turn off the circuit breaker at your main panel first ! ) and check them with an ohm meter.

No disconnect outside by the unit that I can see.. Should I check the crawl space?

    check the power like above.
pull the side cover and look at the contactor, see if the spring is down if it's not it's a control problem.
Look at the run capacitor silver oval or round can. If the top is bulged out like a frozen soda can it's dead.

No, I didn't catch the one year old part, lots of electronic parts in your inside unit, you probably have a fried circuit board there.
There has to be an outside disconnect, it is required by code. Unless of course you had Bubba's Heatin an coolin do the install.......

I dunno wtf is going on. The light in the crawl space doesn't work, and the condensation pump is not showing power to it.. just reset all breakers since I couldn't find one labeled..

Sounds like you got a major problem there. Maybe one phase of you incoming 240 VAC is out, or damage in your main panel buss bars.
You need an Electrician over there to take a serious look at things.
