Thanks for the responses. Let me also ask about something I never considered, is a stiffener perhaps a nice thing to add if I'm carrying a Commander sized hunk of metal?

Depends on the material used and the stiffness of the belt as it is already. Horsehide tends to be stiffer than leather and usually doesn't need a stiffener. I've got one with it and one without, and honestly there's not a lot of difference. Also depends on the type of holster.

You can get their "Quick Ship" belts for $87 shipped.

For many years I fought this notion that something as expensive as the Beltman belt was worth it ... now that I finally bought one I figure I'll probably be buried with it on.

You bought the Milt Sparks holster ... those aren't cheap. Good stuff rarely is.
    +1

not recommended if you insist that a highpoint is every bit as nice as an AMT hardballer or a Baer Custom.
I Love my Beltman. Its going on 2 years around my fat self and its still nice enough for dressy occasions

Silver Bullet range has some on the shelf, don't remember the name, I like mine, good and stiff leather. Try before you buy. $60 range I believe.

I'll have to keep them in mind when I'm back in the market for a belt.

I've had my belt from Desbien's Gunleather for about 7 years now. The finish is worn but the belt is just as strong as the day I bought it.

Thanks for the help and the links. I'll check into these vendors further but I admit at the moment the Amish belt pricing has the inside track. With their pricing I could get two, black & brown and be done. I see they arn't double thickness though, If anyone has anything negative to say about them, let me know.

    Thanks for your input.
