I had to go through the same thing with my useless piece of... err... original Jersey birth certificate. I had to fly back to NJ to do it in person, because they'd only send it through the mail signature required to the address on my drivers license, which wouldn't do me a damn bit of good since I lived most of the way across the country. I got to the office in Trentomr tn when they opened, and I was the last person helped at the end of the day because of the huge line. I just made sure I have like 3-4 copies now so I never have to go back again.
