There is aerosol cans of topical anesthetic meant for postpartum application, but might work. The brand is called dermoblast and it's benzocaine based, not lidocaine, but it should work. Just remeber that this is for topical application only.

Anything injectable will be prescription only or veterinary so that's not really an option, not to mention the potential health effects and risks of infection if you don't know what your doing.

Long story short my roommate/girlfriend had a cyst on her back removed and has to have the packing in the wound replaced every 2 days. She is in the middle of a job transition and her health insurance lapsed on the 31st of this month. At 130 bucks a pop we can not afford to go every 2 days The doctor is fine with us replacing the packing as long as she comes in for a check up once a week. They gave us the packing, gauze and syringes to wash etc. The only thing they can not give us is a lidocaine to numb it up.

Does any body have any lidocaine or know where i can purchase some?

I grew up on a ranch and have doctored horse pigs cows so i know i can do it just want her to be comfortable while i am shoving the packing in.

are you supposed to be using topical lidocaine or injection? if you really want to numb the site you need to inject it. its not that expensive really, but its a controlled medication so you won't be able to get it anywhere. also, i am confused a bit by her situation, is she in pain constantly or is this just for numbing it while changing the packing?

Yes i understand the nature of what i asked for it was a simple request. I was trying to make a decently uncomfortable experience a little easier on her. And because there are so many great people on this board that instead of calling me a retarded ignorant felon they offered me various alternative solutions. Oh, believe me, I would be glad to give you some of my stash, but I have no stash. Maybe sometime in the near future, but that won't help you much at this point. Without an inside connection or prescription, I'd likely look toward topical sprays and ice to alleviate the pain,.

I'll probably end up sticking a gram or so in a med kit with a bottle of sterile saline when I get it built up for SHTF.
