I have shot both an XD 40 & XDM 9. I like them both. I personally like the grip and capacity of the XDM better. I usually shoot at 3" targets at 25' with no issues at all. I'd recommend going someplace where you can feel them in your hand. They both shoot the same, just have a different feel.
