do I have to know somebody to give them a head nod in the grocery store as I walk by? nope.. do I? yup. do I say excuse me if I walk in front of somebody? yup...

Look, we can change it up.. motorcycling doesnt have to be a brotherhood anymore. we'll all just do our own thing.... good luck out there...

I will share another short story. (Im full of em today lol)

My father was an airline pilot, and he had this co-pilot that he flew with for awhile that was just awesome. Couldnt say enough good about him. When my dad retired, this co-pilot came out to my folks house for the retirement party... Well he shows up, and none of us besides my dad had met him. This huge (ripped) black guy, on a harley, wearing an American flag leather vest...

It was awesome. I had just gotten my first bike, a little honda F2 and I was all proud. Well I was half kidding and didnt realize what a no-no it was, but I asked to ride his bike.

He goes,, "sure.. but if you wreck I'll kill you".

well I was kidding, so I was like, "no no man.. I dont really want to bla bla etc."

he goes "you asked... now get on the bike..." lol...

I was terrified, rode it around the block super slow and brought it back unscratched. I was like, "well if you want to ride mine, you can"

    "no thanks"....

    LOL.. hahaaha

Anyway, he taught me some stuff about motorcycling that day. it was him who first told me to respect other riders, and to consider it a brotherhood.

Actually you may have shed some light on this subject for me...

Serious question for Jim, Hbar, Bailey and Badger: Are you all former military? Let me be more specific...are you all former Army or Marines?

I'll say what I think that co-pilot friend of my dads would say, had I taken this attitude with him that day.....

Sometimes when I'm in my truck, I like to wave to other F350 drivers. I usually get a weird look.
