Default Live Feed of Curiosity Landing on Mars!

I guess I should say, more accurately, it's live coverage of the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars. I don't know about all you right wing gun nuts, but I think this is really awesome stuff:

I'm staying up tonight just to watch the live streaming of this on NASA TV. It's another spectacular achievement but the method of lowering Curiosity on Mars sure is ballsy!

Funny, the Russians have made like 20 attempts at a successful Mars landing, and have never been able to do it. This thing is Science Fiction! 75% Chance of success I would say. Buzz Aldrin had to land his Lunar lander manually, and had like 27 seconds of fuel left.

This will be our 3rd successful Mars landing. Things like this remind me how F*cking awesome our country is.

Here's a really neat picture that shows actual size comparison of all three rovers that we have put on Mars. The smallest one was first, and the biggest one is on its way down as I write this. The size of Curiosity blows me away...

The wheelbase of Curiosity is almost exactly the same size as a Mini Cooper.

Hopefully it will be more reliable than the mini.

Hey, my 06 Mini has been extremely reliable and at 40-45mpg, it's affordable (at least more so than Curiosity), AND sporty!!

    Back to Mars...
