"When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law." -Frederic Bastiat
"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."
― Russell Kirk, Author of The Conservative Mind
A and B is irreverent to me. If and only if C and D are true, I would matter.
In a deeply cynical view I'd say Romney's tax returns are an issue if it hurts him and not if they don't. It does seem like at least a year ago the Obamites decided it would be an issue and they've been preparing to use this as a club. I think that Harry Reid comment was just a lame duck 'taking one for the team'.
The university will be an issue if it gains traction. If it is a big hot issue for people who won't ever vote for him and nobody else it is a waste of time. Unfortunately, the tax return issue does seem to be getting traction.
Don't forget Obama is big on transparency. He even got an award for it in a secret undisclosed ceremony. http://www.politico.com/politico44/p...f3a51b959.html
Even Jon Stewart thought this was too much.
