Sorry don't know of any place but have you heard of that torch welder that runs on gas? unleaded, diesel, propane, etc? Was thinking that would be good to have in your case..... Good luck finding some!

Do you need pure argon for tig welding or 75/25 for mig welding?

You're right - it's actually 75/25 for a mig. I might break down and buy one off Craigslist so I can finish this weekend.

I saw a commercial and have been meaning to check it out but I forgot the name. It seems like a good back up in cases such as the op. If you or anyone knows the make please post it.

most migs machines can use flux core also(no gas required). Go by Home Depot or Lowes and pick up some flux core wire to finish your welding. It won't be as pretty. You will need to remove some slag like arc welding, but it will get the job done and be just as strong.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Hey Jeff, you got 220v at your house. I can drop off my mig machine tomorrow afternoon...it's got a 10lb spool of flux core wire on it. I couldn't stay and help but I can lend you the welder. LMK

Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I think I'll use flux core though.
