Plus one on this setup. I have one like this one wife's side of bed with .38 inside and one of the larger "flip down" style from the same maker in my closet 2 steps away with my 229 inside.

Shotgun on top shelf of closet until daughter is old enough to climb up there, probably is already, and then I'll likely get a shot lock or something similar for that.

Call me crazy. It my ARs are in the safe. If I need them it's going to be more than for when something goes bump in the night.

PS, I like this one because I keep it in a drawer and it opens up. The ones with the front door that open down only work if stored on top of something
