Best one out there: Laphroig. It's not a bourbon, but for me the perfect whisky

    +1 if you want Scotch.

As for bourbon, I'm perfectly happy with Maker's Mark.

    Whoa, old thread!

So, I drank all the whiskey we had left, then I bought some more (Leopold's from Colorado), and drank that. The point of this post is that the Feckin Irish Whiskey was always in a totally different ballpark than the other whiskeys, and I could never figure out how people drank Irish Whiskey. I used to hang out/work at a bar, and the bartendfers would swig out of a handle of Jameson, and I could hardly do a shot. Anyway, ever since I decided to stop spending money on liquor every weekend (so I could buy a scope), and I've only had the bottle of Feckin left, I've found it increasingly easy to just drink out of the bottle without even cringing.

What is it with drinking Irish Whiskey out of the bottle anyway?

P.S. Sorry in advance for this lubbed up post, in an old thread that has run its course.

I saw a bunch of Templeton Rye at the Total Beverage by my house the last time I was there. I asked the guy about it and he said, "Yeah, that stuff comes in all the time." I replied with "Great! Then I don't have to buy any now." He said it was common, but I've never seen it there before.

Templeton was still my favorite. I liked the Leopold Bros., but it tasted very dry.
