I'm gonna copy/paste my response from another forum...

I'm at the Maersk Alabama rescue and so far the campaign has been rather meh. Having to restart the mission multiple times because the game stops recognizing my keyboard (until I hit escape for the menu) is annoying. The story is meh. The cutscenes with the family definitely fall far into the uncanny valley.

I actually enjoyed BF3's campaign. And thus far, it's been the better experience for me.

Multiplayer is pretty good. Been having some serious high ping issues related to my ISP, so I haven't been enjoying it as much as I could. I enjoy the workbench style customizing screen for the weapons. I wish the game would tell you what weapons you've unlocked accessories for, though. Otherwise it's going from class to class, nation to nation and gun to gun trying to find out what the numbers on the menu are for.

And VOIP needs to be able to PTT, damnit!
How is the unlock system and is there a hardcore mode? If so what does it do?
Rather convoluted, I think. You have 6 classes. And then you have something like 15 nations per class. Each have their own variations of weapons. I'm not certain on how you unlock stuff for it. Might be kill based, but I can't really tell.

God dammit. You are making me want to buy another game and start playing again. I just got into Borderlands 2 and I don't want to buy another game right away if I don't have to. Is MOH really worth it? I have a couple of friends that play it all the time and love it. But they are Marines so I take their video game selection ability with a grain of salt.

I don't agree with Ridge... I love the campaign, it plays very smooth, there is a lot of variation from mission to mission, I'm doing it on normal and it's at just the right difficulty (challenging but not impossible). I have no idea how far along I am, I just finished the Sarajevo mission and thus far the story is really good (on par with a lot of good military movies coming from hollyweird). I'll play MP tonight and see what we'll see, but if it's as good or better than the beta, then you bet your ass I'm going to be hooked on this for a while!

From the beta I could tell that the guns are realistic, actual optics, and it stresses working together very well...

There is a normal game mode and an "Imersive" game mode which I assumed was hardcore. Couldn't tell much of a difference between the two as far as damage goes.

How much of it is like that? Seems like about 30 seconds of you gunning, but it's not necessary and no one dies if you miss, then 2 + mins of the boat driving itself, then a minute of you driving the boat while the gunner randomly fires shots. Seems more like watching a movie than playing a game.

Not that the jet campaign mission on BF3 is much different.

It's a rare bit. It is essentially like the jet mission in BF3, or the AC130 mission in COD4. So far most of the game has felt similar to Modern Warfare games. You and 1 other guy sneaking around, silently executing enemy guards. Shit goes south, you start running and gunning. Maybe pick up a few indigenous military members to use as bullet sponges, and you blast your way through the enemies until you need to egress.

I just finished what I think is chapter 6, of reportedly 13 chapters.

I haven't been recording most of the more interactive scenes, because the frame rates dip too far while recording to either get decent gameplay, or make it look good.

IGN has been recording their playthrough...here is the first half of the mission I recorded.
