I stopped watching/listening to Bill O'Reily, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck before I even started. I understand the allure of listening to someone who can sometimes express a point of view more eloquently than you can, but I never bought into those guy's BS. I don't appreciate stuff that is dumbed down for the masses, even if it is something that I mostly agree with.

Bill is an ass. Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to his constant interruptions? His latest comments about "heavy weapons" that are "easily converted" into "machine guns" reflect a great ignorance that undermines his conservative credentials and overall credibility. Time to hire a knowledgeable advisor.

Seems to me that making weapons full auto is easily achievable by people who have the desire to do so. I don't think that statement is far off, but I do think it was delivered by a person in ignorance.

O'Reilly has been carrying the water for Obama for the last 3 years, I don't watch his program anymore.

"Easily converted" is a question of time, skill, and resources. A top fuel dragster can be made to "easily run under 5 seconds" in the quarter mile, given the right budget, resources, and skills. It can also turn the engine into expensive shrapnel without moving off the starting line if something is not right. 99% of firearms owners have neither the resources, skill, nor desire to convert their guns to fire in a fully automatic manner. O'Reilly should probably just STFU about subjects that he is ignorant on, or better still, educate himself before offering an opinion.

I know that an AR-15 can be converted to full auto with about $5 worth of metal and a few minutes with a dremel. I don't know how easy other guns are though.

Maybe Jim could explain the mindset better than I can, but I will try.

Most people currently living in the east coast megalopolis don't believe citizens have any legitimate need for or reason to own "military style" weapons or ammunition. That is why they pay high taxes for large police departments that will keep them safe from mentally ill, right wing, fringe whack job lunatics in Colorado.

For those who have lived there, can I get an Amen?

O'Reilly likes to hear himself talk. That doesn't mean I have to listen.

    Be safe.
Amen! I was stationed in NY (Upstate, not the city) for 3 years. I was allowed to have a rifle pretty easy but when I transferred my Glock up there I found that I had to have a pistol permit just to touch it! When I went to the local SO they said they were "less inclined" to do all that work for someone there on temporary status. WTF? So glad to be back here!
