Your post got me all nostalgic (haven’t been crawfishing in about 20 years).
Got the wife and kids, went to Wal-Mart and Sports Authority (they actually have crawfish traps) and headed over to Chatfield. Ended up at the gravel lake across from Kingfisher and caught about 30 nice sized ones in a couple hours. Mainly hand fishing with liver on a line and a net. Everyone had a great time and we’ll have a nice lunch tomorrow.
Thanks for reminding me how much fun it can be.
Holy crap - I had no idea you could get crawfish like this in CO! So cool! And so yummy!
All you need to catch crawfish is a small net and your hand.
Locate crayfish.
Put net BEHIND crayfish.
Poke hand at crayfish from FRONT.
Crayfish shoots backwards into net.
Rocky places are best since there is at least one under every decent sized rock.
