Those are some nice lookin' / good sized crawfsh deagler.

I've been planning on going crawfishin this Saturday night @ 11 Mile. Looking to do a boil. I'll be buying an aerator tomorrow to help keep 'em alive until boil time.

I went about a month ago with a few other guys and a couple of kids.
I donated all I caught to the guys with the kids. When he left he had a FULL cooler. He kept changing the water they were in to clean the mud out of 'em. A couple of hours before boiling them he added salt to the water. I guess this causes them to purge the last bit of stuff outa the crawfish & makes for better eating.

That's where I go too. A pair of waders and a flashlight is how I get em.

Ginsue, let me know, I'll bring some beer.

the boil is the party. one of the things I really miss about Louisiana.
When I was just outside New Orleans, we poured slap ya mama all over the crawfish before we ate them. I tried to do a whole 5 pounds by myself and nearly got sick from eating too much...

That's my only experience eating crawfish

This is about a quarter of what we caught. We catch of what we'll finish eating. We don't waste food.

Your post got me all nostalgic (haven’t been crawfishing in about 20 years).

Got the wife and kids, went to Wal-Mart and Sports Authority (they actually have crawfish traps) and headed over to Chatfield. Ended up at the gravel lake across from Kingfisher and caught about 30 nice sized ones in a couple hours. Mainly hand fishing with liver on a line and a net. Everyone had a great time and we’ll have a nice lunch tomorrow.

Thanks for reminding me how much fun it can be.
