Agreed. There is a good possibility that the president is an ET.
I don't buy a fundamental premise underlying your survey answers. Your answers based on the concept of extra-terrestrial Unidentified Flying Objects. There are other types of Unidentified Flying Objects.

There are Intelligent Origin UfOs such as at a shoot with reactive targets, 'Is that a a piece of the fender or a piece of the 25 lb gas bottle that was sitting on the Tannerite in that car?' Another example would be 'Is that a roof piece or fender flying through the air? as Jeremy Foley's car rolled down Pikes Peak. Then there is the classic flying saucer UFOs.

But there are also Natural Origin UFOs. Is that a newspaper or a 4x8 foot piece of plywood flying around that funnel cloud? Or how about climbing around some rocks at the sea shore. Was did that thing that flew through the air and landed on my back where I can't see it come from a passing seagull or did was it a splash from a wave hitting the rocks?

So yes I know there are UFOs. I have seen plenty of things, both of Intelligent Origin and Natural Origin that I are unidentifiable to me.

None of the answers cover all the UFOs I have seen.

    Have A Nice Day.

I get the whole argument of traveling over vast distances between neighboring stars. There are some enormous technological hurdles for us to get a man just across the solar system. But we've only been flying for like ~100 years. Human civilization is what, 8000 or so years old? So in just over 1% of the time we've been "advancing" we have driven the technology to put man into space. I just don't think we have a grasp of what is possible in say another 8000 years. As long as we don't blow ourselves up...

The odds of another race existing? High. The odds of them existing at the same time as us? Low. They would have to hit the same evolutionary steps in tech at the same time as us or only 500 years ahead of us to be able to come visit us. Not likely. They have either died out after exploring the stars or are still in their form of primordial goo.

This poll covers a serious topic but I used some sarcasm and pop culture references in my choices. I'm sorry you (and others) can't participate, or that you have elected not to because you fail to see the underlying reason behind each of the possible responses.

No, It's just swamp gas = UFOs are due to unexplained events that are due to nature such as atmospheric disturbances, wind carrying garbage, etc.

"I want to believe". = This category means that you believe in the possible existence of UFOs but have not seen concrete evidence. A reference to Fox Mulder in the X-Files, a character who believed in the possible existence of UFOs and continued in the pursuit of truth behind their existence.

Yes, UFOs are real but controlled by humans. = All of the sightings are a result of man made equipment, spy planes, weather balloons, rockets, satellites, radar targets, equipment meant to deceive people into thinking there are aliens visiting us, etc.

Yes, UFOs are real and controlled by aliens. = Do I need to spell this one out?

I've been abducted (and think I saw theGinsue on the craft). = A reference to another thread posted recently on cattle mutilations in Colorado.

Next time I decide to write up a poll, I'll be sure to contact you first.

    I agree.

I voted "Yes, UFOs are real and controlled by aliens."

Sorry I can't possibly cover every category with this human brain.
I understand the X-Files humor, but I don't really have any desire or "want" to believe in extraterrestrials. It doesn't do anything for me. But I believe in the possibility.

I know you can't possibly cover EVERY category with this human brain, but that also means quite a few people probably won't vote... like most polls.

OK, now that the terms have been defined, I went with "I want to believe."

I have definitely seen flying things I couldn't identify that I could believe were natural events.

I also believe the odds are that there is other intelligent life. But I don't know that they're out there. I also believe that we could be the only ones. I really like the idea that we aren't alone in this great big universe so I want to believe.

I have also had one thing I have seen that I trouble believing was natural. I have no idea whether it was a human or extraterrestrial alien in origin. It could have been either. It certainly doesn't fit in with anything I have read about.

I ain't touching the abduction thing.

I apologize for the smart ass response. I get kinda touchy about language. I have had some bad experiences with people asking inexact questions and then jumping me when I answer the the 'wrong' way. It's the old 'Have you quit beating your dog?' thing. If we had been face to face I would have asked for clarification of the terms to start the discussion.

    It is an interestion discussion.

If you want people's opinions, you're going to get them. Whether you get them in the way you desired to get them or not, ask and you shall receive.

It IS the internet and all.

And back sort of to the topic at hand, I find it interesting this assumption that other "intelligent" forms of life wouldn't have the exact same problems that we do. We would be the only species or creatures that struggle with war, poverty, violence, etc? I think THAT concept is absurd. I would be more likely to believe what someone else mentioned that many other civilizations have come and gone do to war and conflict than they are just simply avoiding us because of our "problems."

Or they have the EXACT same problems as us and don't see it going any better than what they are currently dealing with.

I do believe aliens exist, but that they have never been here and likely never will. I think what people see are optical illusions and occasionally experimental craft and such.
