    Default My First Puppy

I went up to the breeder today to meet our puppy for the first time. He is 5 weeks old as of yesterday and his name is Alamo. He comes from a litter of 7. He comes from four generations of show champions, however he will not be shown by us. This was his first time around anyone else other than his litter mates and the breeder so I'm glad to see that he took to my wife and I well. We will be picking him up for good in four more weeks. I will be updating the thread periodically so that I can track his growth!

The last one is a little video of him. I have some more that I will add later! Just wanted to share my new boy.

    Labs are awesome.

Be ready for some serious shedding...

Indeed. I have grown up with having two labs at all times with my parents and now it was time to get my own. Theirs were always terrible about shedding. In the last year I have graduated college, gotten married, purchased my first house, changed careers, so the puppy was the only logical step other than a child. I sure hope that momma doesn't have a little T-Giv cooking in the oven!

    Cute pup.

Do yourself a favor if you're not experienced raising dogs... go read this:

Good read I appreciate it. My wife and I have been countless hours of research to determine what training methods we think will be best.
