My Feedback + 50 lost during the site crash
What is the right way? I took my 10 month old lab pup out into the national forest and shot my .22 about a hundred times with him sitting at my side. You could tell it made him uncomfortable, but he didn't freak out or anything. He was more interested in the new scenery of the forest and kept wandering away to sniff things. When I moved up to a 9mm, he wouldn't stay next to me - I think it was hurting his ears. When I fired my AR, he was laying down about 20 ft behind me. This still made him uncomfortable, but he didn't freak out or try to run away. Did I do it the "right way?"

I have no idea. I was also just going to start with a .22. My dog loves stuff like the lawn mower, weed eater, vacuum, etc. Whenever I use them he always stands in the way and barks. He clearly thinks it's a big game. I even did a burnout on my motard yesterday to see if he would freak out and he just looked at me for a second and then started dancing all around. Not sure how he will take guns though. Can anyone provide some solid answers for the "right" way to introduce him? Should I get him some puppy muffs or something to protect his hearing?
