Augusta National admits first 2 female members

NEW YORK – For the first time in its 80-year history, Augusta National Golf Club has female members.

The home of the Masters, under increasing criticism the last decade because of its all-male membership, invited former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore to become the first women in green jackets when the club opens for a new season in October.

This just pisses me off. They are their own damn club and if they don't want women in there then they don't have to have women in there. I'd be willing to bet on it. They didn't just magically change their minds in a few years and decide that they want to have women members join. I'm sure they got some HEAVY pressure.

That's a negative. The owners of the past were very open that they would never permit women into the club. The last decade has been nothing but terrible, loud, obnoxious women protesting at the Masters. There is no way that the club was not pressured into making a decision like that.

Augusta didn't really cave. Condoleeza Rice and Darla Moore aren't the right kind of women.
