Does DUI's effect qualifying for a concealed carry?

ALL CCW applicants are up to the sheriffs office regarding approval or denial. Each dept decided differently. I know one guy up here had a dui, he went in and explained the whole scenario, even included the info (not like they don't have access to it) and was approved.
Another guy got popped on a dui they took his gun, but not his permit. he hires an attorney to fight the charge, wins, gets gun back and keeps CCW.
It's a crap shoot. In the metro area, say denver they probably deny you.

It certainly can. Two or more alcohol related offenses of any and all kinds will disqualify you. You also run the risk the issuing sherif uses his discretionary powers to deny the CCW with one DUI.

Also note that DUI's with accidents causing injury can be felonies. Then you are prohibited entirely.
