    Yes, that's right. All of 1st Marines, 1 MARDIV is/was at Horno. Just down Basilone Rd, in from the back gate and past SOI. I lived in that base housing just inside the back gate at San Onofre.

    Wow that is pretty freaking cool! I was on the USS Essex so I didn't see the LAR guys much. I think I had to cross-deck to both of the support ships at some point to fix radios. I think you had your own comm guys though so I didn't work on your vehicles, but I did get to drive one while we were doing work up during CAX.

    Was the Tarawa the boat with busted boilers, or was that the Duluth? I still have the "yearbook" they gave us with all the photos from the deployment, so there's probably a picture or two of you in there somewhere.

    There is at least one. I was the platoon with the Minotaur pic. The one with the big balls.
