My guess would be that most home robberies occur during the day while their occupants are off at work. I know it happened that way to my brother and to my mom. In fact, my mom came home and caught the guy there too. Only my mom didn't go into the house when she saw the back door was opened. She was armed but stayed in her vehicle in the driveway and called the police. The intruder must have heard her drive up because while she was on the phone the guy bolted out the back door of the house and ran. They actually caught him shortly afterwards.
I heard this come across a scanner around on University and Dry Creek. If it was not the one I heard then it was very similar. ACSO got into the area instantly as the call was aired, but I believe the neighbor had them on the run. This area of Centennial is quite safe, the ACSO and citizens do a good job of keeping it so.
Seems to me that there are a lot more burglarys these last 18 months. Personally I think people should invest in home security systems whether a monitoring service or a self monitoring service. Just fortifying and making things difficult for a potential burglar can help to. Either way another good reason to have a CCW since this woman came upon something in her home unkowningly.
Bingo! Not just a basic monitoring system that over priced ADT charges for... What good is 2 doors with no window sensors. You need all windows, motion on basement and floor levels. Garage door as well and the door from outside into the garage. I can monitor my alarm on my phone, i can turn on lights, open and close my garage door, i get a txt when someone rings my doorbell, etc. All with monitoring for 1/2 of what ADT charges... i have an alarm guy that does awesome work if anyone needs his info.
here are some screen shots from my phone this morning

My Feedback
Yeah I misinterpreted the post I suppose, thinking since the neighbor took off after them he would have had a license plate number and or been in pursuit to alert the authorities of the perps actual location while fleeing, read too much into that looks like. I can understand that in a robbery you come home to and your things are destroyed or missing there is little luck in finding those responsible, but I would think if you walked in on a robbery in progress it may be a different situation since there was face to face confrontation? This is the sort of confrontation I would think the police would contact the local news about to get a description of the men and vehicle out to the general public, but again I understand the money and personnel stand point. Glad she's okay.
Also Kwando.....that is awesome
