Barrett on Armslist

There was as of yesterday a advert on Armslist for a Barrett M82A1 (which was posted before and disappeared same day) for a price well under value, has to be a scam. I contacted the poster and below is the reply. I had to laugh. Why do these people think that they can get away with this?

BARRETT M82A1 50 BMG RIFLE AND NEW RELOADING ACCESSORIES. RIFLE COMES WITH: LEUPOLD 4.5-14 TACTICAL SCOPE, PELICAN CASE, TWO 10 ROUND MAGAZINES.
RELOADING EQUIPMENT COMES WITH: 400, 690 GRAIN BULLETS (NEW NOT PULLED), 8 LB. OF 50 HODGDON BMG POWDER. 500 CCI PRIMERS, HORNADY DIES, HORNADY PRESS, HORNADY 50 BMG HIGH CAPACITY POWDER MEASURE, 105 LIVE ROUNDS, 100+ CASES. BASICALLY, EVERYTHING NEEDED TO RELOAD 400 ROUNDS.
THE RELOADING EQUIPMENT IS NEW. I HAVE USED THE DE-PRIMER AND RESIZING DIE TO DE-PRIME AND RE-SIZE 100 ROUNDS. ALL OTHER EQUIPMENT IS NEW NEVER USED.
The price for the rifle is $2,135 with shipping included.I can't enjoy it due to my job (I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I left the rifle in Belfast,Maine at a shipping company,ready to be shipped to you or your ffl dealer.The rifle is a gift from my ex husband and i don't care if i sell it cheaper, i want to sell it asap.
I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested the transaction will be done only through Amazon so we both will be protected.First of all, the rifle will be insured during transit so no damage can occur.
Secondly, you will receive all appropriate documents along with the rifle. You will receive all the papers signed by me so you can easily transfer the rifle into your name.
You will make the payment to Amazon and they will hold the money until you receive the rifle. ONLY After you receive the rifle and you inspect it, Amazon will release the payment to me, in this way we are both protected.
If you are really interested and want to buy it i only need your full name and full address so I can make the shipping reservation on your name and address and start the transaction.After that you will receive an invoice from Amazon with all the details and how to make the payment to them.

EDIT: I also just looked on armslist and this exact rifle ad and pictures is listed in three different states....

I don't know, it's on the internet so it MUST be true.

Armslist & Craigslist are bad enough with the "legit" ads, but these scammers need to be tied to the cruise ship's anchor and dropped in the middle of the ocean.
