I think my company seriously oversold itself and now some of us are paying for it because couple of us got laid off today, 4 in the last week to be exact. It sucks but life goes on. The new ops manager they hired is about to screw this company and I actually feel bad for the owner. It was a great company until that idiot got his hands in it.
I have a couple of contacts for jobs and see how those pan out. And meeting someone next week with a company that I have worked with on some contracts.
Anyone need a IT or Low Voltage guy??

well I got a short term contract that is about 5 days to hold me over for a few days. man i hate looking for jobs.

well I think its goin to all work out. Lately have had a few calls from companies.
I have a job if i want it, I honestly think I am going to turn it down. The money sucks infact is the least amount of money I have ever made since HS. I turned it down once and they called me back, I said ok I will come pick up the paper work. I was reading the handbook deal before I filled out any paper work, well this place is right accross from a large pool hall/night club type place. I will be working nights, only 2 people on shift, well the handbook prohibits ANY weapons on property even in my truck including pocket knives. So on that alone I think I will pass. Thats just ridiculous to me.

I have a 6 month contract offer as well that pays decent and is actually in Pueblo local to to me instead of driving to springs. And have a few short term contracts just incase.

So in the end its going to work out, back to buying toys.

I can barely wrap my mind around that, and I work in Boulder.

Even back in Chicago, where you can't buy or own a handgun in the entire county unless you're mil or PD, you can carry knives. I started wearing a one-hand opening SOG lockback on a horizontal belt holster after a sketchy pizza delivery once. I doubt I've gone long without carrying at least a folding knife of some kind since, and that was.... carry the nine.... 17 years ago?

exactly, I have carried a knife since I was in HS. And working accross from a bar on night shift I dont think so buddy. You are damn right I will be armed. But yea can't agree with a lot of things in thier little handbook deal.

Colorado is an employment "at will" state so you can be fired for many reasons - except a few reasons related to civil rights.... Hey, isn't being able to protect oneself a civil right? That list of exceptions is growing and I believe they added sexual preference to it this year to appease the Democrat base.

Anyhow, the "right to work" statute relates to your right to work for an unionized employer without being forced to become a dues paying member of that union. Many states don't allow you to opt out. Understandably, unions don't like that law since they view such employees as freeloaders.

On the other side of that coin, most union bosses will donate a portion of member's dues to liberal politicians who want to take away gun rights or vote for other things that you might strongly object to (partial birth abortion, gay marriage, anti-military, etc.). You can't do anything about it. Compare that to a business that pimps PAC contributions from its management. They can't collect dues from management to fund a PAC even if a majority of managers want to donate.

Ritter surprised everyone earlier this year by vetoing a bill that took away our right to work. The D's slammed that one through the legislature over the vehement objection of the R's.
