Gunny fired by Geico

This seems at least somewhat astounding to me. What was Geico thinking then they had Gunny "play himself" in a Geico commercial? Did they think he was Charlie Crist's pal and would be voting for Beeho?

Just another sign that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder.

My insurance is State Farm, but me and my family will avoid Geico, Progressive, and the other "Ben and Jerries" of the insurance world.

On Megan Kelly's program on Fox within the past hour, this story came up. She said they contacted Geico for comment, and Geico responded that Ermey wasn't fired, but that his contact with Geico simply expired.

From what I know of Mr Ermey, and having spoken with him twice before, I don't believe he would make something like that up. He is a very much "speak your mind" kind of guy, and has a stand up reputation.

This could be one of those cases where they both are technically right - that is, his contract did expire but someone in charge at Geico let him know his opinions were not welcome anymore...

I'm sure Ermey knew before now that Hollywood isn't particularly friendly to outspoken conservatives. I also think every actor and actress knows that his or her contract may expire and this commercial looked like a one-time deal as so many of the other GEICO commercials are so I very much doubt Ermey would be saying anything now unless a corporate type had said something very specific to him. To heck with GEICO and their fake-accent lizard.

A close family friend of ours got to meet him too (this friend is a Col in the USMC) and he explained that Ermey is a very good and honest Marine. No doubt the man isn't lying.

Yes, the same happened with D.C. Douglas (the guy that does the voice over "15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance"), he was fired after calling Freedom Works and saying some pretty rotten stuff about them. Freedom Works is a major Tea Party org.
